Eng. Lydie Uwantege serves as the Operations Manager at the Institution of Engineers
Rwanda, has a background as a licensed Civil Engineer with 8 years of experience in
infrastructure projects. She’s adept at tasks such as feasibility studies, detailed
design, budgeting, permitting, procurement, construction management, and commissioning
major public works such as hydroelectric dams, water supply projects, and roads.
Moreover, she possesses a solid understanding of construction and contract management,
as well as public procurement for construction projects
Lydie graduated from KIST (now the University of Rwanda College of Science and
Technology) with a degree in Civil Water and Environmental Engineering. Additionally,
she earned a Diploma in Contract Management specializing in FIDIC Contracts from the
College of Contract Management in the UK. She recently completed her EMBA at Quantic
School of Business & Technology (USA).
Active in professional circles, Eng. Lydie is a member of the American Society of Civil
Engineers and serves on the Governing Engineers Council (GEC). She has contributed to
various Impact Organizations such as Engineers Without Borders USA and UK, and the World
Economic Forum (WEF) Global Shapers in roles including Professional Mentor, Technical
Paper Reviewer, and Impact Officer
